Role: Full-Stack Engineer — Next.js / TypeScript / AI (F/M/X) — Remote

Talents2Germany is placing a Backend Ruby on Rails Developer with one of our clients — a B2B technology company in the German-speaking market.
The company builds a digital platform that helps businesses and independent professionals create, manage, and scale digital offerings. The product environment is fast-moving, user-focused, and shaped by a strong emphasis on scalable systems, clean execution, and continuous improvement.

This role is suited for someone who enjoys building reliable backend systems, contributing to architecture decisions, and working closely with product and engineering stakeholders in a modern remote environment.

This is a long-term remote engagement working directly with the technical leadership. The developer will be a core contributor to an actively used platform with real customers and real scale. All communication is in English.

Role Summary:

As Full-Stack Engineer in the AI Incubator, you own greenfield product development end-to-end — from architecture through production. You work directly with product, design, and growth leads, connecting every technical decision to business outcomes and MRR.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build & Ship Greenfield Products
  • Take full ownership of new product development from concept to production
  • Architect and implement full-stack features using Next.js (App Router, Server Components)
  • Deploy and maintain systems on Vercel/AWS including CI/CD pipelines and monitoring
• Backend Engineering Excellence
  • Design and build scalable APIs with proper service architecture
  • Implement patterns like dependency injection, transactions, and idempotency
  • Optimise for serverless constraints — background jobs, caching, scalability pitfalls
  • Work with PostgreSQL and ORMs, writing efficient queries and transactions
• Collaborate & Iterate
  • Partner with product, design, and growth to rapidly test hypotheses and ship
  • Integrate AI-powered capabilities where they create tangible user and platform value
  • Connect technical decisions directly to business outcomes and revenue goals

Must-Have Requirements:

Technical Skills

• 5+ years of professional software development with strong JavaScript/TypeScript expertise
• Deep Next.js knowledge — App Router, Server Components, caching strategies, full-stack capabilities
• Solid backend fundamentals: idempotency, rate limiting, dependency injection, database transactions
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL including query optimisation and ORM patterns
• Comfortable with serverless architecture (Vercel or similar)
• Entrepreneurial mindset — you connect technical work to business outcomes
• Clear communicator who thrives in fast-moving, cross-functional teams

Work Style & Communication

• English: fluent spoken and written — mandatory for all team communication
• Experience working in agile development environments
• Self-organised: works independently and delivers without hand-holding
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proactive communicator: raises ambiguities early, does not guess silently
• Quality-focused: code is production-ready when submitted, not a draft
• Honest: says “I need clarification” rather than confirming what is not understood

Highly Desirable:

• Experience with tRPC or similar type-safe API frameworks
• Background job processing: Inngest, BullMQ, or similar
• Prior work with LLMs, vector databases, or AI-powered features
• Python experience for AI/ML integrations
• E-commerce, SaaS, or FinTech domain experience
• Open-source contributions or prior incubator / startup experience
