Your Mission:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer to join us on a full-time freelance basis. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity and usability of our SaaS platform across mobile and web environments. You will be the champion of quality, embedding robust testing and validation practices into our fast-moving development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

• Manual Test Execution: Conduct comprehensive manual testing across our mobile and web applications to identify defects and validate seamless user journeys and feature functionality.
• Quality Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Developers to dissect requirements, define clear acceptance criteria, and ensure quality is addressed early in the development cycle.
• Process Design: Design, document, and champion foundational QA standards, processes, checklists, and documentation to build a scalable quality framework.
• Artifact Creation: Create detailed, actionable bug reports, develop robust test cases, and maintain necessary regression suites.
• Release Integrity: Execute release validation and dedicated regression testing to safeguard the stability and reliability of production deployments.
• Continuous Improvement: Provide ongoing, constructive feedback to enhance product quality, user experience, and internal development processes.

Essential Qualifications:

• Foundational Expertise: Demonstrated passion for software quality and a sharp, detail-oriented perspective, supported by initial experience or a strong aptitude for manual testing of mobile and/or web applications.
• Testing Knowledge: Basic proficiency in core software development and testing concepts (e.g., SDLC, defect lifecycle, test methodologies).
• Communication & Structure: A highly proactive communicator who excels in asynchronous remote collaboration. Must demonstrate a structured approach to problem-solving and documentation.
• Language & Location: Fluency in English is required; German language skills are a valuable asset.
• Freelance Eligibility: Must be currently based in Germany and legally eligible to work as a freelance contractor (self-employed).

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with test case management systems (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr) and issue tracking (Jira).
• Experience with API testing (e.g., Postman) and basic SQL for data validation.
• Exposure to or interest in test automation concepts and tools (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Detox).
• Prior experience testing Shopify applications or e-commerce platforms.
